Rocky Mountain Classics (RMC) provides an atmosphere that the whole family will surely enjoy. Our warm and welcoming members bring years of classic boating experience and hands on knowledge to everyone we meet at our events. Our Mission
Charm & Elegance
Since we started, The Rocky Mountain Classics Boat Club prides itself in creating exceptional events in venues across our region with these beautiful boats. Our mountain and plains lakes provide exceptional alpine vistas and many different on-the-water experiences unlike many other parts of the country. The club strives to provide a quality newsletter, The Bilge Pump, as well as create long lasting friendships that only come as members share these fun times on the water. Join Us!
Our History
The Rocky Mountain Classics Boat Club was organized in March of 1998. Bob and June Moharter, Chip Taft and Charlie and Katie Geuin travelled to the (ACBS) Antique and Classic Boat Society Annual Spring Meeting in Seattle in May, 1998 to be recognized as an Official Chapter of this National Organization.
Our first year was a success beginning with the showing of three wooden boats at the Denver Boat Show. Tom Green’s 1949 Century Deluxe Utility, Jim Johnson’s 1957 Chris Craft Sportsman and, Chip Taft’s 1940 Chris Craft Custom were shown at the show for the first time. The woodies were a hit at the show and several boaters joined our group.
Jim and Julie Johnson hosted the first in the water event, “Woodies on the water” at Horsetooth reservoir on June 6th.
12 boats joined in as the clubs numbers grew.
